Are you thinking about buying a log house or cottage?

You will probably be hiring a home inspector to check out the plumbing, electric, foundation, roof condition etc. of the house you’re looking at. Most home inspectors, however, aren’t specialized in log homes. They wouldn’t be in a position to give you an opinion on the state of the logs themselves.

To prevent unpleasant surprises down the road, we encourage you to ask your inspector to give you a bit of a break and use the difference to get Darcy to look at the logs. He will inspect each log, double checking problem areas, and give you an honest assessment.

The result may be better than you thought, as this client learned, or it may be disappointing. At least you’ll know.
